Protix is a multinational company that develops and produces insect ingredients for animal feeds and human consumption.

Protix, which was founded in 2009, operates one of the world’s largest insect factory, located in Bergen op Zoom in the Netherlands.

In the aquaculture space, the company produces alternative fish feed composed of high-protein insect-based ingredients. The company aims to reduce the aquaculture industry’s reliance on wild-caught fish for fish feed.

Van der Geijn said her role as CCO of Protix will be to “further increase the increase transition towards a food system in a balance with nature.”
